Paul Cezanne was a post-Impressionist painter whose paintings laid the foundations of this transition in the 19th-century concept of the artistic project into some new in the 20th century. Cezanne’s art, misunderstood and discredited by the general public during the majority of his life, grew out of Impressionism and eventually challenged all of the conventional values of the paintings of Paul Cezanne in the 19th century due to his insistence on personal expression and on the integrity of the painting itself, whatever the issue matter.
Like most of his adult landscapes, his paintings like The Sea in L’Estaque and The Bay of L’Estaque have the exciting and radically new quality of concurrently representing deep distance and horizontal design.
