Fabian Lavater, a 32-year-old Swiss freelance artist and illustrator, has found his creative haven in Basel, a city renowned for its vibrant art scene nestled in the heart of Europe. His artistic journey began at an early age, with Fabian's unwavering passion for drawing evident from the moment he could grasp a pen. In school, he was that classmate who would always be caught doodling instead of paying attention to the teacher's lectures. An unexpected turning point occurred in 2011 when Fabian ventured to a surf camp, primarily drawn by its legendary parties. Little did he know that this journey would unearth his true calling – surfing. The moment he stood on a surfboard for the first time, he was captivated. Subsequently, Fabian dedicated his vacations to riding the waves, which eventually extended to conquering local Swiss river waves and embarking on a transformative six-month journey around the world. During this odyssey, he explored the coastal wonders of New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, and California. As time passed, Fabian's artistic focus evolved. His drawings of waves gave way to capturing the serene moments he experienced by the sea, in forests, or amidst mountains.
